‘Cracké’ to Hatch on Disney Channels EMEA

Quebec City studio Squeeze announces that its CG animated TV series Cracké has been acquired by Disney EMEA. Beginning next month, the 52 x 1-minute shorts series will broadcast on Disney Channel stations in nearly 100 countries and territories around Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“We’re very excited to see that our paranoid ostrich, created in Quebec City, will make more and more families laugh across the planet!”, says Denis Doré, Squeeze’s President and Co-Founder. “From the very beginnings, we wanted to produce a TV series of very high quality with universal appeal. The relationship with Disney means a lot to us, confirming that our talent here has real potential to travel the world.”

Cracké is a slapstick comedy centered on Ed, an anxious ostrich dad who never fails to protect his eight precious eggs from danger, although he never misses a chance to make things worse for himself in the process. The property launches this year as a series, mobile game and motion comic book. Cracké the series is produced by Squeeze in collaboration with Teletoon, the Canada Media Fund, the Quebec Refundable Tax Credit for Film and Television Production, Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, CAVCO, the Bell Fund and the National Bank.
