YouTube Kids App Gets Sporty

Alongside the Olympics festivities, the YouTube Kids App is getting in the athletic groove for the month of August with a rollout of engaging sports-themed content for young viewers. The slam-dunk line-up includes videos on historic moments in sport to inspiring clips on easy and fun ways for kids to get active and stay healthy. Young viewers will have no trouble finding this content thanks to a special sports category icon now added to the top of the app homescreen.

As part of this special month of sporty programming, the YouTube Kids App is showcasing some of the best sports-themed animation content on the platform. Episodes being featured on the app include Teen Titans Go! “So Rad”, Cartoons for Children – Sunny Bunnies “Athletics”, Little Charley Bear “Basketball Midge”, Nursery Rhymes from Mother Goose Club “Sports Rhymes”, and Zig and Zag “What Is Tennis?”.

In addition to the sports-themed toons, the App’s older viewers can check out clips from role model athletes and popular YouTubers, while youngsters get familiar with early sports and fitness concepts. In addition to curated playlists, viewers can check out content from DreamWorks TV, Cosmic Kids Yoga and Lazy Town.
