UBM Launching Licensing Expo China in 2017

UBM, the largest B2B event and trade show organizer in the US and Asia, has announced next summer will see the launch of Licensing Expo China, which will run July 18-20 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The event is being sponsored by international licensing organization LIMA.

Licensing Expo China will feature over 100 brands and properties from China and overseas, and facilitate connections for brand owners and agents with consumer goods manufacturers, licensees and retailers across Asia. The event will also feature lectures and workshops addressing L&M business challenges and opportunities. Plus, Licensing Expo China will be co-located with similar events: CBME China, the world’s largest baby products and services trade fair; and Cool Kids Fashion Shanghai.

“China’s licensing industry is growing faster than all other territories in the world. In a recent survey, China was identified by our customers as the number one market that they are looking to for growth. This launch underlines our strategy to provide products for our customers in the markets that they want to penetrate. We are excited to be working with our experienced trade show team in China to deliver this event for the licensing industry,” says Jessica Blue, SVP of Licensing, UBM Americas.

UBM has also announced that it has entered a strategic partnership with LIMA and Alifish (the licensing and entertainment arm of Alibaba) for online licensing matchmaking and trading to support the development of China’s brand, art and characters licensing industry. Initiatives will encompass online training, live events and education programs, drawing on the partners’ diverse strengths.
