‘Jungle Book,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Kubo’ Top VES Honors

It was a good night for The Jungle Book and Game of Thrones, with each winning five categories at the 15th annual VES Awards held Feb. 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Jungle Book won five of the six awards it was nominated for, shutting out Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which lead features with six nominations. Deepwater Horizon won two awards in the photoreal feature categories.

In animation, the awards were spread around a bit more, with LAIKA’s Kubo and the Two Strings winning best effects in an animated featured, while Disney’s Moana won two honors and Pixar’s Finding Dory won one.
