Trivandrum, India-based animation and entertainment company Toonz Media Group announces the launch of Toonz Games, a new global division that will develop titles for a variety of platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows, and others. The venture is headed by Sunil A.P., who brings nearly two decades of gaming and animation industry experience to the post.
The new division will create games based on international IPs such as Smighties and Rat a Tat, conceive original ideas exclusively for games, and explore new opportunities to create unique projects.
“Toonz always believes in entertaining the world in the newest and most innovative ways. I believe Toonz Games holds immeasurable potential to take entertainment, in general, and gaming, in particular, to a totally new level. Toonz promises to create entertainment with a soul,” said P. Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Media Group.
Toonz Games will operate out of a state-of-the-art studio at Trivandrum’s Technopark. Sunil A.P. will lead a veteran team of creators at the division, which will utilize the studio’s existing talent pool of game artists, animators and programmers. The games branch will tap the latest technologies, including AR and VR, to create exciting experiences for all ages.
