Nimble Collective Teams with CSU for Summer Program, Scholarships

Silicon Valley’s Nimble Collective — creators of the first cloud-native animation collaboration platform — has teamed up with California State University’s Summer Arts Program to offer scholarships as well as professional animation mentorship for this July. Five students selected based on their portfolios/reels and applications will receive scholarship prizes, ranging from $100 to $2,000, to be put toward the CSU Summer Arts class.

The deadline to apply is May 15 — instructions available here.

Accepted students will benefit from the guidance of Nimble’s industry pro leaders, whose credits include acclaimed feature films such as How to Train Your Dragon, Megamind, Toy Story and Lord of the Rings. It is recommended that students have at least two years’ experience with Maya animation/modeling software. Students will work on an animated film project as a group, including all aspects of production from storyboarding, modeling & animation, lighting, et al.

The CSU Summer Arts “Animating a Short Film with Nimble Collective” will run from July 10 to July 23 at the Fresno campus, and counts for three credit units. The course coordinator is Aubry Mintz; guest artists from Nimble Collective are Rex Grignon, Jason Schleifer, Scott LaFleur and Jennifer Dahlman. More info here.
