VIZ Media is gearing up for the next big pop-culture confab on its calendar, with fun events, activities and exclusives slated for New York Comic Con 2017, Oct. 5-8 at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. VIZ will be based at booth #1336 during the con, which will play host to the latest and greatest in comics, graphic novels, animation, videogames, toys and collectibles, movies, TV and more (NewYorkComicCon.com).
The big news this year is that VIZ Media will welcome the creative team behind The Legend of Zelda manga series, Akira Himekawa (A. Honda and S. Nagano), as NYCC Guests of Honor, in their first East Coast professional appearance. The duo will take part in several panel discussions and autograph sessions throughout the convention.
VIZ NYCC panels and special events include:
Thurs., Oct. 5, 4-5 p.m. VIZ Media Panel with Special Guests (Rm. 1A06): Exciting announcements, exclusive first looks at new titles, and prizes! Akira Himekawa will also make a special appearance.
Fri., Oct. 6, 4-5 p.m. The Legend of Zelda Panel (Rm. 1A06): The creators behind the bestselling manga, Akira Himekawa, will discuss their work on the hit series. Fans attending this panel will receive a special collectible.
Sat., Oct. 7, 1:45-2:45 p.m. Shonen Jump Panel (Rm. 1A10): The U.S and Japanese editors of the world’s most popular manga have exciting news to share about what’s in the works!

Barnes & Noble Tribeca Book Store: Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m. (97 Warren St.)
Kinokuniya Book Store: Oct. 7 at 8:30 p.m. (1073 Avenue of the Americas) Be among the first 100 people to purchase any The Legend of Zelda manga from the Barnes & Noble Tribeca and Kinokuniya stores that day, and receive a wristband for the autograph session. Signing session attendees may choose to have either their purchased manga or a VIZ Media-supplied shikishi board signed.
Nintendo World Store Rockefeller Center: Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. (10 Rockefeller Plaza) An encore appearance! Event details will be announced shortly by the Nintendo World Store.
