Spotify Cancels TV Shows in Reboot of Video Efforts
The popular music streaming service is nixing its video content in order to revamp the whole department under new head Courtney Holt. “Spotify has videos?” you may ask. Well, yes, but apparently not enough people noticed. Now that you know, we recommend binge watching the animated music history series Drawn & Recorded while you still can.

Nine years in the making, the inaugural Palm Springs International Animation Festival will showcase diverse films such as Elton John-inspired short Rocket Man, heartwrenching viral hit In a Heartbeat and groundbreaking Middle Eastern feature Bilal. The fest is the brainchild of Backyard Film Festival founder Brian Neil Hoff, with help from local community service hero Dimitri Halkidis of Boo2Bullying.
‘Weeds’: The Making of an Animated Short Film
Gnomon School of Visual Effects will welcome Kevin Hudson and Bradford Simonsen for a behind-the-scenes look at the first animated short completed within the Filmmakers Co-op at Disney Feature Animation — an international collaboration between individual artists around the world. The 13th edition of the Festival of Independent Animation is set for Nov. 23-26 in Calgary, with feature screenings such as The Girl without Hands, Junk Head, and a Satoshi Kon double feature of Perfect Blue + Paprika.
Ghostbusters X Stranger Things Reeboks Are Kickin’!
At a launch party in Culver City, Sony Pictures Consumer Products, Reebok and BAIT unveiled the sweet limited edition Ex-O-Fit Hi Clean model inspired by the custom fan modifications that Dustin makes to his kicks in the new season of Stranger Things (on Netflix now). The shoes will be at BAIT retailers worldwide this month, then rolling out to premium sneaker shops, including Reebok stores (Japan/online), Undefeated (everywhere), colette (Paris), Mita and Atmos (Tokyo), Kasina (S. Korea) and Juice (Hong Kong).
