Legend 3D Grows with India Studios Opening Nov. 13

Legend 3D, Inc. — an industry-leading stereoscopic 3D conversion, VFX, VR and animation studio with facilities in Los Angeles and Toronto — will be expanding its presence beyond North America with the establishment of Legend India, to be based at state-of-the-art studios in Pune opening November 13. The announcement was made by Legend CEO Aidan Foley.

“This strategic decision was enacted to provide Legend’s clients with an experienced expanded global team to provide the quality, economic benefit and skill set required to execute digital imaging at the highest possible level,” said Foley. “As a client-focused organization, we are deeply committed to respecting the security of client IP, deadlines, budgets and excellence in visualization. Planting our flag in India and implementing ‘The Legend Way’ will assure this consistent level of unparalleled creative output for the studios, networks, brands and agencies who have put their trust in us.”

Legend India will extend the company’s worldwide reach and capabilities in 3D conversion for theatrical features, VFX for movies and TV, virtual reality experiences (from pre-viz to post production) and animation. The studio has established a secure digital pipeline linking all three facilities for a protected, interconnected workflow.

Foley added that Legend’s company culture of supporting a healthy work-life balance will also be a component of Legend India: “We believe that creating a collaborative creative environment for artists and offering them a career path to grow within the organization is a healthy, strategic approach to success.”

The Pune location is expected to employ 500 people by the end of 2017, adding to the company’s predicted global workforce increase to more than 2,000 in the next 12 months.

Legend India will be based in the 10-acre Suzlon “One Earth” campus, building out some 40,000 square feet in a LEED Platinum and GRIHA 5 star certified building. The “One Earth” campus is self-sufficient, employing effective energy controls and building management systems for minimum disturbance to the natural ecology of the site.

Recent projects for the studio have included stereo work on The LEGO Ninjago Movie and Spider-Man: Homecoming, VFX for the new Ghostbusters and AMC’s Preacher, and the VR experience Kong: Destination Skull Island. More info at legend3d.com.
