Nominees Revealed for Inaugural European Animation Awards

The short film, TV and feature film nominees for the first-ever European Animation Awards — dubbed the “Emiles” — have been revealed, displaying the variety of stories and artistic techniques of the modern continental industry. The inaugural awards will be presented in 16 categories.

For TV series, Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball is a standout with four nominations. As for features, Ethel & Ernest, Long Way North, My Life as a Zucchini and The Red Turtle each received three nods.

Named in honor of animation pioneers Emile Cohl and Charles-Emile Reynaud, the first Emile Awards will take place in Lille, France on December 8, 2017 (tickets available now). Online voting for members is open through November 30.
