A new, bigger, badder threat is bubbling up from underground in the all-new season 2 trailer for DreamWorks Trollhunters, from acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Part 2 of the epic family-friendly saga, dubbed Tales of Arcadia, debuts exclusively on Netflix on Friday, December 15.
In the second season, ordinary teen-turned-Trollhunter Jim Lake Jr. takes the risky decision to enter the Darklands, leading to startling discoveries that force him and his friends into a race to defeat the evil threatening his hometown of Arcadia and the fantastical Troll world he’s become a part of.
As previousy announced, film and TV stars Mark Hamill, Lena Headey and David Bradley are joining the cast, which includes Kelsey Grammer in his Emmy-winning role as Blinky, Steven Yeun (Steve), Anjelica Huston (Queen Ursurna), Jonathan Hyde (Strickler), Amy Landecker (Barbara) and Charlie Saxton (Toby). The late Anton Yelchin, who completed recording through Part 2, voices the lead role of Jim Lake, Jr.
Trollhunters debuted last December with 26 episodes, becoming an instant hit and sweeping the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards with six wins. The series is created and exec produced by del Toro with Marc Guggenheim (Arrow), Rodrigo Blaas (Alma) and Chad Hammes (Dragons: Race to the Edge) and Christina Steinberg (Rise of the Guardians) serving as executive producers. Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman (The LEGO Movie, Ninjago) serve as co-EPs.
