WIA, Animation Guild Presenting Harassment Panel in Burbank

Women in Animation and The Animation Guild, Local 839 are teaming up to present a panel discussion on sexual harassment on Wednesday, December 6 at 7 p.m., followed by a mixer. The event will take place at IATSE Local 80 on Olive Ave. in Burbank and is open and free to all WIA and Guild members.

The panel will address some of the burning questions that those in the animation industry have in the wake of recent events and revelations, such as: What is sexual harassment? What are your rights and responsibilities? And, What can we all do to create safer work environments?

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, co-founder of AAPF and Professor of Law at UCLA and Columbia Law School, joined by expert panelists including attorney Jason Oliver, who specializes in sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation cases; Dr. Anthony E. Reading, clinical psychologist, Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA and expert in civil litigation in the employment arena; and Tammy Cho, co-founder of BetterBrave, a nonprofit that provides resources and tools to combat harassment, discrimination and retaliation in the workplace.
