BAFTA and multi-award-winning production studio Jellyfish Pictures has partnered with digital production company Jollywise to create a new CG-animated bridging series, Stan & Gran. Both will be heading to Miami to present the show with a full bible, 3D modeling and script (by Myles McCleod and Evgenia Goluba) at Kidscreen Summit, Feb. 12-15.
The series follows the unlikely adventure of Stan, his musclebound gran, and his trusty AI-powered binoculars, LARA, as they uncover whiffy goings on in their coastal town. In addition to the linear TV show, Stan & Gran has a full 360-degree brand expansion plan devised by Jollywise. Jollywise founder Jon Mason came up with the original concept.
“I spent a lot of time with my gran as a kid, she was fearless, and amazing, and now my kids spend a lot of time with theirs. Stan & Gran is a love letter to that special relationship,” said Mason.
Jellyfish is translating original designs by fine artist Daz Butcher into 3D, and will act as the production and main distribution partner, while Jollywise will continue to work on the show creatively and implement a full digital strategy.
