Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products and Wise Toys, Ltd. announced Friday a new global, multi-property merchandise agreement (excluding US territories) for three of the latter’s smart toy lines: Wise Pet, an augmented reality coloring & activity book, and an AR Activity Box Set. The first products will hit shelves in multiple markets worldwide simultaneously in Q1 2018.
“These smart toys will give fans a chance to interact with their favorite Nickelodeon characters in new and exciting ways,” said Dan Frugtniet, VP Licensing and Business Development, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. “We’re always looking for innovative ways to engage consumers with Nickelodeon’s beloved personalities, so we’re very excited to partner with Wise Toys to put these interactive toys – with the latest technology – in the hands of fans around the globe.”
Wise Pet — a cuddly, clever smartphone/tablet protector designed for babies and children — will receive brand makeovers featuring characters from Nick hits PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Blaze and the Monster Machines. Wise Pets “come to life” with a free app, which will be packed with Nickelodeon content and activities in various languages. Kids can enjoy the toy with or without a device inside, and parents get device protection.
AR coloring & activity books will feature the stars of Shimmer and Shine, SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Dora and Friends, TMNT, Blaze and Nella the Princess Knight. These next-gen books allow users to enhance their creative play by coloring, scanning and interacting with their favorite characters while using a unique AR mobile app. Wise Toys will also develop a unique AR Activity Box Set with a variety of activities and interactive experiences for young fans and their Nick faves.
