Media Brand ‘Betches’ Tapped for Comedy Central Toon

Humorous, femme-centered website and Instagram brand Betches (betches.com) will be expanding to TV with a new animated series, coming together at Comedy Central and set to feature Emma Roberts on the voice cast, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Betches will follow three millennial women in their 20s navigating modern life in New York City, who aren’t afraid to call BS when they see it and say what everyone is thinking. Coming from Bunim/Murray and All Screen Productions (part of Access Ent.), the show will be scripted by Rachel Koller. Executive producers are Koller, Roberts, Betches founders Jordana Abraham, Aleen Kuperman and Samantha Fishbein; Bunim/Murray’s Gil Goldschein and Kesila Childers; and All Screen’s John Cheng; with Carli Haney as producer.

Betches boasts some 6 million followers on its young female-targeted Instagram account; the brand also includes merchandise available on the website such as tees, greeting cards, phone cases and home decor emblazoned with snarky slogans; and NYT bestselling books I Had a Nice Time and Other Lies and Nice Is Just a Place in France.
