‘Pokemon GO’ Catches New Parental Safety Features

Parents will be able to let their kids play Pokemon GO with more piece of mind. The popular gaming property has partnered with SuperAwesome to launch the Niantic Kids Parental Portal for its upcoming release. The new platform uses the kids safety technology SuperAwesome to control the personal info shared by kids and players who access the Pokemon Trainer Club to use the app. Parents who register with the portal can manage their kids’ privacy and to give them permission to play.

The experience has been developed in conjunction with SuperAwesome’s Kids Web Services, a kidSAFE Seal Program and ESRB Privacy Certified service. Niantic Kids allows parents to keep their kids’ information secure while they look for Pokemon characters everywhere.

Parents have been demanding new safety features after reports came out that showed how the free iOS and Android game used the clock and GPS of a user’s phone to track their location.
