Chuck Jones Center Calls for Red Dot Auction Art Donations

The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity in Costa Mesa, California has put out a call to artists to participate in its ninth annual Red Dot Auction, which benefits the Center’s educational, health and outreach programs throughout Southern California and around the country. These growing initiatives include:

  • After-school enrichment programs in more than half of the the 24 public elementary schools in Irvine, CA.
  • Brain health program for local seniors with early onset dementia, “Food for Thought,” which has received a grant from the Newport Beach Arts Commission.
  • Working with young people on the autism spectrum through collaborations with Autism Resource Mom and the Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
  • Partnership with Chicagoland, whose Chuck Jones Center for Creativity programs are consistently oversubscribed.

Artists interested in donating a piece to the fundraiser can register here.

Materials provided by the center will be a 12″ square canvas (to be signed on the reverse) or an 8″ 3D “Cre8ive Peeple” figure in red, white or black (to be signed on the bottom). Artists are also welcome to work on any size canvas, substrate or 3D media that they can provide themselves.

As in previous years, a commemorative poster featuring 30 representative canvases will be produced and sold at the event.

Canvases are due back Monday, March 27, 2019. The online auction will go live mid-April and run through May 15, 2019.

The silent Red Dot Auction IX will be held Friday, May 17, 2019.
