New Eco-Conscious Special ‘AquaTeam-Sea Adventure’ Premieres on Rai

Italian animation studio Graffiti Creative is celebrating the long awaited premiere of its new 25-minute TV special, AquaTeam-Sea Adventure, which debuts Monday in primetime on national kids’ broadcaster Rai Ragazzi. Produced for Rai and endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Environment, the 2D-animated ocean adventure is Graffiti’s first solo production after serving as an executive producer on more than 220 short films over the years.

Based on an original concept by exec producer Federico Fiecconi (Founder & CEO, Graffiti Creative), AquaTeam-Sea Adventure follows world-famous marine biologist Marysun as she sets out with her friends Otty the Octopus (a whole rap group on eight legs) and teenage diving enthusiast Desy to explore the beautiful Mediterranean sea. As well as befriending dolphins, turtles and other sea creatures, the adventurers discover a deposit of plastic garbage which threatens a pod of sperm whales.

The 24’30” action-comedy special is aimed at kids 6-11 and families, and paves the way for a 52 x 26′ animated series in the works at Graffiti. AquaTeam-Sea Adventure is directed by Massimo Montigiani, and written by U.K. duo Colin Davis (former director of development for Cosgrove Hall) and Jonathan Davis (co-creator, Everybody Loves a Moose). Serving as scientific consultant and star is marine biologist and TV personality Mariasole Bianco.

AquaTeam-Sea Adventure is available to stream on RaiPlay the same day.
