Dandelooo, the Emmy-winning Paris-based animation production and distribution company, just announced news of a pair of animated projects pre-sold to the children’s educational platform, Da Vinci, and the free-to-air television channel, Tiny Pop.
First up, Fantastic Antics is a 2-D cartoon comedy and edutainment series destined for Da Vinci and its 7+ App. This fun creative endeavor, assigned by France Televisions and produced by Les Films Jack Fébus, is a burlesque, slapstick, adventure series that instructs and informs children on what daily life in the ancient world was like around the planet. Directed by Paul Bourgois and Jérémy Boulard-Lefur, Fantastic Antics is aimed at 6-to-11-year-olds.
The series follows three intrepid heroes imbued with the ability to traverse eras, territories, and ancient civilizations as they explore classical locations from Greece and Egypt to lesser-known regions like Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Mesopotamia, and Mesoamerica.
Dandelooo has also made a deal with Tiny Pop for the preschool series, Billy the Cowboy Hamster, which is set to premiere exclusively on UK Free TV in May 2023.
Directed by Swiss illustrator Antoine Rota (Kaeeloo) and Caz Murrell, Billy the Cowboy Hamster is produced by Dandelooo’s French animation studio Ooolala, in close association with Belgian co-production partners Digital Graphix, Atmosphere Media and RTBF.

Designed to appeal to 4-to-7-year-olds, Billy the Cowboy Hamster is adapted from the acclaimed collection of seven books by Dutch author and illustrator Catharina Valckx. This popular kids’ series has sold more than one million books in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, China, and Japan and concentrates on three friends, Billy the hamster, Jean-Claude the worm, and Suzie the stone marten as they experience an abundance of wild adventures.

Billy wants to become a cowboy, but he is only a little boy, well a little hamster really! He has grown up in the Wild West, raised on the captivating tales told to him by his father, who used to roam the plains in search of adventure…He already has his cowboy outfit and, more than that, a burning desire to explore the fabulous playground that beckons to him every morning: the Wild West! So, accompanied by his faithful friend Jean-Claude, the earthworm, and Suzie, the little ferret… off he goes!
