There’ll be nowhere to hide when The Walt Disney Company kicks off its historic 100 Years of Wonder celebration next year and Marvel Comics is getting in on the anniversary action with a series of 12 exclusive variant covers dotted with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and many more iconic Disney characters.
This year-long Disney100 variant program delivers a fun dose of Disney to monumental Marvel superhero titles you can collect as part of the milestone birthday party sure to be experienced across all of the entertainment empire’s theme parks, streaming platforms, and media outlets.
The Walt Disney Company was originally founded on October 16, 1923 by Walt Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney as Hollywood’s Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.
Here’s Marvel’s official description of this whimsical team-up:
“The variant program in honor of Disney100 will celebrate Marvel’s past, present, and future through the classic “What If” lens with a fantastic reimagining of Marvel’s most classic comic book covers. These first-of-its-kind art pieces will see Disney’s iconic characters immersed in the magic of Marvel storytelling as they pay homage to legendary moments in the Marvel Comics mythos, including Captain America assembling Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers #4, as well as the groundbreaking debut issues of Fantastic Four and Incredible Hulk.”
A total of 12 monthly Disney100 variant covers will be available in your friendly neighborhood comic shops, newsstands, and online merchants starting January of 2023.
