Teaser: ‘Solo Leveling’ Webcomic Adaptation Coming to Crunchyroll in Winter 2024

A new level begins in Solo Leveling, an upcoming anime series based on the popular monster hunting webcomic of the same name. The official teaser trailer for the adaptation debuted today, hinting at supernatural action and dungeon-raiding adventure at every turn! The series will premiere on Crunchyroll in Winter 2024.

Created as a webnovel by author Chugong with original webcomic illustration by DUBU (former CEO of REDICE Studio Jang Sung-Rak, who passed away in July 2022) and adapted by h-goon, Solo Leveling (a.k.a. Only I Level Up) follows a desperate hero fighting his way out of an otherworldly challenge.

Synopsis: Known as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind, E-rank hunter Jinwoo Sung’s contribution to raids amounts to trying not to get killed. Unfortunately, between his mother’s hospital bills, his sister’s tuition, and his own lack of job prospects, he has no choice but to continue to put his life on the line. So, when an opportunity arises for a bigger payout, he takes it … only to come face-to-face with a being whose power outranks anything he’s ever seen! With the party leader missing an arm and the only healer a quivering mess, can Jinwoo somehow find them a way out?

The Solo Leveling anime series is being produced by A-1 Pictures, directed by Shunsuke Nakashige (Sword Art Online) with Noboru Kimura (Princess Principle: Crown Handler) as head writer, character design by Tomoko Sudo (Alice in Borderland) and original music by Hiroyuki Sawano (One Piece Film Red, Attack on Titan).
