Superprod Looks to Score with Magical Soccer Saga ‘Heroic Football’

Paris-based Superprod Animation is ready to hit the pitch with its latest toon team member, Heroic Football. Set in a world where soccer and magic reign supreme, this 26 x 22′ series marks the group’s first attempt at an animated series for tweens and up; kids eight and over. The project’s trailer and full details will debut at Cartoon Forum 2023 in Toulouse on September 20.

”Each project we undertake is a chance to delve into fresh realms. With Heroic Football, we aim at captivating a more mature audience, fusing soccer’s exhilaration with the enchantment of storytelling, molding this property into a true saga,” explained Superprod Group founders Jérémie Fajner and Clément Clavet.

On Pangéa, a land of legends populated by creatures borrowed from the “Heroic Fantasy” realm and infused with magical runes, soccer isn’t just a sport; it’s the world’s only salvation. An unlikely team of five players, brought together against all odds, embark on a covert mission: to win Heroic Football matches and secure the enigmatic Dark Rune before time runs out.

Writer Guillaume Mautalent, who has contributed to over 300 episodes of hit series such as Miraculous Ladybug, Galactik Football and The Mysterious Cities of Gold, pens the project, co-created with Sébastien Oursel. Series director is Antoine Charreyron, who helmed the first two seasons of Batwheels, produced at Superprod Animation for Warner Bros. Animation, as well as the movie The Prodigies and hit series Galactik Football. The show’s design is boosted by Florent Auguy, who has worked on video games and films including Sony Pictures Animaton’s Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The Heroic Football pilot was created entirely on the new FLOW pipeline, powered by Pixar’s USD technology and fully developed by the Superprod Animation team.
