Exclusive Clip: ‘Our Frasier Remake’ Puts an Animated Twist on a Sitcom Classic

The brothers Crane will soon be reunited in their live-action reboot on Paramount+ this week, but it will be beaten to the punch by the buzzy animated project Our Frasier Remake, which will officially premiere Wednesday, October 11. Following the trailer debut last monthAnimation Magazine is tickled to share an exclusive clip which offers a sampling of the 185 segments reimagined by 100-plus artists to create a wonderfully bizarre and visually compelling remake of the Season 1 Frasier finale episode, “My Coffee with Niles.”

The original 1994 episode takes place entirely in the Cranes’ local coffee shop, Café Nervosa, where the brothers ponder what it means to be happy while constantly switching tables in search of some small bit of contentment. In the clip below, Frasier and Niles consider the complexities of their closest relationships.

The clip features the voices of award-winning VO actor Eric Bauza (Looney Tunes Cartoons) as Frasier, James Adomian (Harley Quinn) as Niles and Rekha Shankar (CollegeHumor Originals) as the waitress.

The animated segments seen in this clip were created, in order, by Krystal Valentin, Rosie Rella, Ilan Schraer & Ijah Valenzuela, Michela Buttignol, Jacob Reed, David Burgis & Matt Kurh, Dante Cuestas-Thompson, Jesse McLaren, Dana Dale, Brian Carroll, Jake Kahana, Heather Cardone and NoNo Flores.

Spanning animators, filmmakers and artists in 20 different U.S. states and 11 countries, the project is being led by director, comedian and visual artist Jacob Reed (Funny or Die, Jimmy Kimmel Live), who recently grabbed headlines by flying a plane over the major L.A. studios in support of the WGA Strike.
