GFM Animation Will Bring Warner Bros.’ New Looney Tunes Movie to the American Film Market

Everyone’s favorite cantankerous duck and flustered pig are making a big comeback to the big screen in the new animated feature The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. Daffy Duck and Porky Pig will save the world from alien invasion in a new movie directed and exec produced by Pete Browngardt (Looney Tunes Cartoons, Uncle Grandpa, Chowder). Alex Kirwan (Looney Tunes Cartoons) is supervising producer, and Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) is exec producer.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is currently in production with a Q2 2024 delivery date. The film will be launched at next month’s American Film Market (AFM) by GFM Animation, which will also share first footage with attendees. The title is being billed as the “first-ever fully animated Looney Tunes feature-length movie created for a cinema audience.”

According to the distributors, the movie unfolds a rich Porky & Daffy story that fans have never seen before: In this buddy-comedy of epic proportions, our heroes race to save the world, delivering all the laugh-out-loud gags and vibrant visuals that have made the Looney Tunes so iconic, but on a scope and scale yet to be experienced.

Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios said, “Our artists have created an incredible Looney Tunes film that follows in the cinematic tradition of when audiences first fell in love with these characters. GFM Animation are the perfect partners to help us bring Porky and Daffy back to their rightful place on the big screen.”

Guy Collins, chairman of GFM Animation, added,  “It’s thrilling for the team here at GFM Animation to be handling the worldwide distribution sales on a movie with such an iconic IP, working with the terrific team at Warner Bros. Animation. It is great to see all their hard work in progress at this advanced stage of production.  Independents rarely get to work on movies with such affinity awareness from fans worldwide and we know they are going to love Porky & Daffy’s sci-fi adventure just as much as we do.”

In the addition to The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, GMF will bring 10 Lives, Sneaks, A Greyhound of a Girl, Stitch Head and Ozi: Voice of the Forest to AFM.
