With the final month of the year coming up, classic toon fans had a false alarm when Max released its list of incoming and departing streaming content for December, which listed the iconic Looney Tunes on the chopping block. A revised list followed quickly, emphasizing that the beloved antics of Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the gang will stay put.
The message from Max read: “Looney Tunes was included in error as a title leaving the platform. This is not the case and the show will continue streaming on Max.”
As far as new animation coming to the Warner Bros. Discovery platform, December won’t see any big premieres (the Warner Bros. Animation/DC holiday special Merry Little Batman having been regifted to Prime Video), but there will be some titles to catch up on, including (in order of launch):
- Meet the Batwheels (Dec. 1)
- Teen Titans Go! Great Holiday Escape & Christmas Magic (Dec. 3)
- Elmo & Tango Holiday Helpers – Max Original (Dec. 7)
- Spirited Away: Live on Stage (Dec. 24)
- Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! (Dec. 25)
Unfortunately for adult animation fans, among the titles leaving Max in December are the Adult Swim favorites Frisky Dingo (last day: Dec. 11), Tom Goes to the Mayor (Dec. 13), China, IL (Dec. 19), 12 oz. Mouse Season 1 & 2, The Jellies, The Shivering Truth and Lucy, The Daughter of the Devil (all Dec. 31).
