Watch: Disney+ Unleashes Trailer and Images for New ‘X-Men ’97’

Everyone’s favorite Mutants are back and better than ever. Disney+ today released a new trailer and some exciting new images from its upcoming  X-Men ’97, which features 10 episodes, premiering weekly, beginning on March 20.

The colorful new show picks up right after the events of X-Men: The Animated Series, which originally ran from Oct. 1992-Sept. 1997 on FOX. It continues the stories of all the mutants Xavier left behind when he departed Earth to journey to the Shi’ar homeworld. In the new trailer, we see that that all of the Professor’s former students are reeling from the loss of their mentor. However, after all the times our heroes have saved the world, humanity still hates their kind and wants to on destroy the X-gene forever.

The show revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future. The voice cast includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.

X-Men 97 Beau DeMayo serves as head writer; episodes are directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura. Featuring music by The Newton Brothers, the series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and DeMayo. Fans will be happy to know that a second season has already been greenlit.
