First U.S. One Piece Cafe Opens in Las Vegas May 11

Las Vegas is about to welcome the country’s first-ever official One Piece Cafe, a celebration of the global hit anime franchise — encompassing not only the long-running episodic series with more than 1,100 episodes to date but also 15 feature films, numerous video games and a popular trading card game. While One Piece pop-ups and activations have sprouted up all over the world, the pirates’ new base is the result of a partnership between restaurateur Andy Nguyen of Greatness LLC and Toei Animation.

“We can’t think of a better location for the One Piece Cafe than right here in Las Vegas,” said Nguyen. “Bringing to life one of the world’s most famous anime franchises and marrying it with one of my greatest passions — food — is a dream come true. Our hope is to bring folks together at the Cafe to celebrate what One Piece represents: camaraderie, friendship, the promise of adventure and a delicious journey for all.”

“We’re thrilled to launch the One Piece Cafe, a one-of-a-kind location-based culinary experience created by Greatness LLC,” said Jennifer Yang, Senior Manager, Licensing for Toei Animation Inc. “Now, anime fans from around the world will have a special reason to visit Las Vegas — to enjoy One Piece like never before and dine on iconic food recreations and special culinary inventions inspired by the franchise and its characters. It’s time to set sail for the One Piece Cafe!”

The 2,000-square-foot One Piece Cafe will be decorated with depictions of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Crew on their epic high seas quest to find the ultimate treasure, “The One Piece.”

Fans can look forward to a chef-driven menu of culinary delights all inspired by the series characters’ favorite foods, from Japanese Fruit Sando and Zoro’s Onigiri to Tajio’s Beef Curry and a Mighty Meats Pirates Platter, a nod to Luffy’s voracious affinity for all things meat.

Sweet things are in store when it comes to the bounty of desserts, including Stretchy Mochi Cookies, which come in flavors of mango, strawberry, ube and matcha (which of course, stretch just like Luffy’s superpower), along with Big Mom’s Wedding Cake, a three-tiered cake with layers of strawberry, chocolate and ube. Another confection fans might appreciate and readily recognize: Gum-Gum Fruit Mousse Bomb, a vanilla sponge cake enrobed in a decadent white chocolate shell and adorned with fresh fruit — naturally inspired by the mythical devil fruit that granted Luffy his extraordinary abilities.

Rounding out the menu will be an array of whimsical beverages, from a refreshing Mikan Tangerine Slushy (Nami’s favorite food) and “Pumpkin Juice,” with pumpkin, coconut, apple and garam masala, to the “All Blue Mocktail,” a blue-pea flower and oolong tea and “Franky’s Coke-a-Cola Ice Cream Float.”

Additionally, the Cafe will offer exclusive merch, including tees, sweaters, hats and more.

Grand opening festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11 and will feature special character appearances by Luffy & Zoro (from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), along with special giveaways.

One Piece Cafe is located at 5600 Spring Mountain Rd in Las Vegas, Nevada, 89146. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
