‘Flow’ Sets Sail for U.S. Theaters November 22

Having just been announced as Latvia’s entry for the Best International Feature at the Academy Awards this year, Sideshow and Janus Films have announced Flow will open in U.S. theaters on November 22. The critically acclaimed animated feature debuted in the Un Certain Regard official selection at Cannes before winning four prizes at Annecy Festival in June, and has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival next month.

A wondrous journey, through realms natural and mystical, Flow follows a courageous cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet.

From the boundless imagination of the award-winning Gints Zilbalodis (Away) comes a thrilling animated spectacle as well as a profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community. Steeped in the soaring possibilities of visual storytelling, Flow is a feast for the senses and a treasure for the heart.

Zilbalodis directed the film, wrote the screenplay with Matiss Kaza, composed the score with Rihards Zalupe and produced alongside Kaza, Ron Dyens and Gregory Zalcman. Flow is a co-production of Dream Well (Latvia), Sacrebleu Productions (France) and Take Five (Belgium). Charades handles international sales.
