Japanese-American actor Brian Tee (Chicago Med, Expat, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Jurassic World) will voice star in the Adult Swim series Get Jiro!, based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novels. The New York Times bestselling comics were written by Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose, and illustrated by artwork by Langdon Foss and Alé Garza.
Created for television by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka (Sharper, Superstore), the half-hour animated series is set in a near-future Los Angeles, where elite chefs rule the city and citizen gourmands literally kill for a seat at the best restaurants. Here, a mysterious sushi master named Jiro enters a bloody culinary war and refines his recipe for revenge.
Warner Bros. Animation is producing the series.
In animation, Tee has voice roles in Baymax!, Star Wars: Visions and Sym-Bionic Titan, as well as the video game Saints Row 2.
