The Blue Water Film Festival (BWFF) announces its honorees and film lineup for its 6th annual edition, taking place March 20-23 in San Diego in celebration of United Nations World Water Day.
Presented by the Blue Water Institute, the four-day event will showcase features, shorts and animated films with a total of 32 films, comprising eight features, 16 shorts and eight animated films.
This year, the Global Guardian Award will be given to Captain Paul Watson, a Canadian anti-whaling activist and ocean conservationist who has risked his life to change the world for the better. The award will be presented by Greg Reitman, Festival Director, on Sunday, March 23 during the Blue Water Awards at UCSD’s Park & Market. Additional honorees include Matthew Modine for the Visionary Award, and Henrik Stiesdal for the Pioneer Award. Grammy-winning blues legend, Taj Mahal will close out the awards ceremony with a live performance.
