Timed to the movie’s theatrical rollout today, WaterTower Music announces the digital release of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), featuring the music of Emmy-nominated composer Joshua Moshier (Baskets, The Shrink Next Door).
The soundtrack is available now digitally, with vinyl available for pre-order from Enjoy The Ride Records.
“The Day The Earth Blew Up has been one of my most rewarding projects,” said Moshier. “Pete Browngardt is a visionary director, and whenever he’s making something, I know it’s going to be brilliantly funny, fully heartfelt, and surprisingly weird — all in perfect proportions. The biggest gift of working with Pete is getting to stretch out and let creativity flow, because he is so trusting and supportive of my instincts.
“The task was to weave all these elements together, translate the sound of the classic Looney Tunes to a modern cinematic presentation, and to really explore the tension, and genuine love, between Porky and Daffy. It’s a big, 80-minute score recorded in Los Angeles with an orchestra of world-class musicians. I’m grateful to Pete and the team at Warner Bros. Animation for this collaboration and so happy the film can be seen and heard on the cinema screen.”
