Pixeldust Moves Into Expanded Facility

Bethesda, Md.-based animation studio Pixeldust has announced an expansion that includes a move into a larger 6,000-square-foot facility.

The company, which specializes in animation and broadcast design, has customized the new space to expand its capabilities, adding more than 200 terabytes of data storage, expanding its render farm to 300 cores and adding a fiber-connected internet pipeline with a symmetrical 50 megabyte throughput.

Pixeldust employs 25 people in Bethesda and recently provided digital animations and motion graphics for the Discovery TV series American Loggers and Powering the Future, as well as for TLC’s Hoarding: Buried Alive and National Geographic Channel’s Border Wars.

“Our new facility also allows us room for expansion, so that we can add staff and equipment in the future, to help facilitate additional—and larger—projects,” says Ricardo Andrade, president and creative director of Pixeldust.
