Hinge Contest Seeks Stories and Characters

Hinge Digital has issued an open call to concept artists, designers and writers to submit story ideas and character designs to the company’s Bringing Your World to Life Contest.

Sponsored by Animation Magazine, Luxology and Wacom Technology Corp., the contest will present the winning creator with a Wacom Intuos4 tablet, a copy of Luxology modo 3D software and will be featured in Animation Magazine’s April/May 2010 issue. The prize package has a retail value of about $1,500.

Hinge Digital also may consider the winning concept submission for future adaptation into an original animated series pilot or short film.

“We see the Bringing Your World to Life contest as an opportunity to help bring undiscovered talent to the forefront,” says Roland Gauthier, co-founder of Hinge Digital. “The winning contest submission can be from any story genre and any creative level or background. The only requirements are that each entry is original and compelling.”

All contest submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. PST on Dec. 31. Only submissions from residents of the United States who are age 18 or older will be considered.

The winning contest entry will be announced in February. Further information, rules and submission details can be found online at www.hingedigital.com/contest.

Recognized as a full-service studio pioneering new 3D content creation and character animation techniques, Hinge Digital also specializes in the development of film and television properties based on original content from graphic novel and creature-feature genres.
