Wizard Hat Turns ‘Chicken, Pig, Cow’ into Preschooler Series

Toronto-based Wizard Hat Productions has announced it will produce a new TV series based on the book series Chicken, Pig, Cow, by Ruth Ohl.

The book series was first-published in 2008 by Annick Press. The TV series will feature the comic adventures the animal trio and is targeted at the preschool audience.

“We are excited to bring Ruth Ohi’s funny and enchanting characters to television,” said Pam Slavin, partner and executive producer, Wizard Hat. “The Chicken, Pig, Cow books have garnered praise from preschoolers, parents and teachers alike and we believe that this success will translate to television and continue to delight fans around the world.”

Four books in the series have been released to date. They tell the tales of three homemade plasticine animals who live in a Popsicle-stick barn at girl’s house.

Wizard Hat is led by executives Slavin, Toni Stevens and Bill Fox.
