‘Mighty 7’ Hits The Hub on Feb. 1

The Hub Network is prepping for its first major television event of 2014, with the original animated family movie Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 set to premiere Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m.l ET/5 p.m. PT. The film, the first of a trilogy from the comic book legend, features an all-star cast that includes Sean Astin, Jim Belushi, Mayim Bialik, Darren Criss, Flea, Armie Hammer, Teri Hatcher, Michael Ironside and Christian Slater, and stars Stan Lee as a cartoon version of himself. Mighty 7 is produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture between Genius Brands Int., POW! Ent. and Archie Comics, with Hub signed on to present the world premieres of all three movies.

The 90-minute, 2D animated adventure centers on the toonified Stan Lee (who also happens to be a legendary super hero creator). When he encounters a group of crash-landed alien prisoners, Lee sets out to teach them how to use their unique abilities to be real life superheroes. Lee must also help Strong Arm (Armie Hammer), Silver Skylark (Hatcher), Lady Lightning (Bialik), Lazer Lord (Slater), Roller Man (Flea), Kid Kinergy (Astin) and Micro (Criss) evade the alien commander Xanar (Michael Ironside) and Earth’s cover military ops leader Mr. Cross (Belushi) who both want to get their hands on the Mighty 7.
