Montreal-based Toon Boom Animation has signed a deal with HeARTBIT Digital Creation to localize and distribute its Storyboard Pro and Harmony software applications in Japan.
HeARTBIT is one of Japan’s leading animation players and its CEO, Hitoshi Kumagai, signed the distribution deal with Toon Boom president Joan Vogelsang during a provincial trade mission.
“It is a great honor to bring our relationship with Toon Boom to the next level. To that end, we have increased our presence at the upcoming Japan Anime Fair to showcase Toon Boom technology to the local community,” said Kumagai.
“We are confident Harmony and Storyboard Pro will be well-received by the Japanese animation industry, knowing its latest version entirely fits the unique Japanese production methodology. HeARTBIT is the ideal partner to undertake this venture and we look forward to great success with them,” said Vogelesang.
