Marvel is getting a new Thor: and it’s a woman.
The comics publisher made a splash by announcing on the ABC daytime talk show The View that Thor will find himself no longer worthy of wielding his mighty hammer Mjolnir, and a female character will prove herself the right person to take it up.
The identity of the new Thor remains a mystery, but she will debut this fall in Thor #1, the start of her own comic series, replacing the current God of Thunder series. The comic will be written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Russell Dauterman.
