Rainmaker Ups Tara Kemes to VP Culture & Talent

Vancouver studio Rainmaker Entertainment has promoted Director of Talent Development Tara Kemes to the newly created position of Vice President, Culture & Talent. Kemes, who has been with the company five years, will spearhead Rainmaker’s recruiting efforts while continuing to develop the animation house’s unique culture as it continues to expand its creative and technical teams. She reports to SVP, Production & Operations Kim Dent Wilder.

Topping Keme’s to-do list is leading recruitment efforts at the upcoming SIGGRAPH Vancouver event (Aug. 10-14). Rainmaker is staffing up for its recently announced production of the Bob the Builder TV series for HIT and will have a strong presence at the show’s Job Fair. Kemes says the studio has hired about 100 people since the beginning of the year and is anticipating adding an additional 80 or more artists and tech staff before the close of the year.

Rainmaker is currently in production on two films: its 27th Barbie DVD movie for Mattel, and a theatrical feature based on the Sony PlayStation game Ratchet and Clank. The TV division is busy with Bob the Builder and developing a new version of its iconic CG series ReBoot.
