As part of the premiere tonight on Disney XD of the new sci-fi-meets-toons special Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars (7:30-8:30 p.m. ET/PT), the channel is throwing in a sneak peek at the first 7 minutes of footage from the upcoming CG-animated series Star Wars Rebels. The show will premiere with a one-hour special on Disney Channel this October, followed by series launches on XD channels around the world. The Force-ful evening of XD programming will also include a Star Wars themed episode of live-action martial arts comedy Kickin’ It.
Star Wars Rebels continues the epic tradition of the legendary saga with all-new action-packed adventures. Set in a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world, the series begins as Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. The clever and motley crew of the Ghost is among a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. this is worse than clone wars… 3d models are good but the animation is quite weak… not impressed.
I would give it a try IF the Walt Disney Co were willing to broadcast this on the Disney Channel / ABC Network (the fact its getting dumped onto DisneyXD is an epic fail, which means its going to end up like TRON Uprising, where a fan base is going to be forced to buy digital content – OR torrent download) ….
