KidsCo’s ‘Boo & Me 2’ Goes Pop with Blue

International kids’ channel KidsCo announced today that it will feature animated versions of pop group (and Eurovision contestants) Blue in a special episode of its original series, Boo & Me 2. The episode will air in all of the channel’s 95 territories starting May 9, and will also be available to watch on their U.K. website kidscotv.tv/uk.

Boo & Me 2 follows the adventures of a mischievous orangutan called Boo and his pals, and is based on East Malaysia’s orangutan sanctuary, Sepilok. The series tackles a number of conservation issues to help educate children on preserving the environment. This special, series finale episode will feature Blue performing its Eurovision Song Contest entry “I Can” at a London charity concert to benefit the Sepilok orangutan rehabilitation center. The band has also sponsored a real orangutan at the center (naming him Blue, appropriately).

“KidsCo does a great job of providing kids with content that is fun and engaging whilst delivering an important message,” says Blue’s Duncan James. “We were delighted to offer our support to this project as it is a very worthwhile cause. We also enjoyed seeing our animated selves alongside Boo, and hope the viewers enjoy watching us perform with our extra band member!”

Adds KidsCo global CEO Paul Robinson: “Asking Blue to be a part of our new Boo and Me series is a perfect fit for KidsCo. Helping save the environment is close to their hearts, as is educating children of all ages to do their bit.”
