Nick’s Turtles Come Out of Their Shells for ‘View-Master TMNT VR’

Nickelodeon has teamed up with Mattel and Climax Studios to launch View-Master TMNT VR, a new virtual reality app featuring the beloved characters of animated kids’ show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The app is suitable for ages 7+ and is compatible with Google Cardboard and View-Master VR Viewers, available now in the US through the App Store and Google Play.

View-Master TMNT VR brings fans into the action as the Turtles set out to discover what mischief is afoot in New York City, and put a stop to it. The free demo experience lets players interact with and explore the sewer lair, and chill with Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo.

The full VR experience — a purchasable upgrade available within the app — opens up more of the Turtles’ world. Players can train with Splinter in the dojo to learn the Turtles’ unique movies, go on missions to uncover Shredder’s plot, and visit special locations to play mini-games and unlock items (Chinatown, Antonio’s Pizzeria, Coney Island, et al). The game offers three levels of difficulty, making each mission unique and re-playable.

Players can further enrich their experience with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles View-Master VR Viewer Pack ($49.99), which includes a branded Viewer, four interchangeable shields featuring each Turtle’s mask color, a TMNT reel and QR code to unlock the full VR app. Or, fans can opt for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles View-Master Experience Pack ($12.99), which includes the reel and QR code. Both are available now.
