Academy, Metrograph Present Experimental Animation in NYC

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science and New York City’s Metrograph Theater will be presenting ”Restored Animation Rarities,” a mesmerizing program of experimental animation shorts next Wednesday, November 8 starting at 7 p.m. — many presented in 35mm film!

Restored Animation Rarities: The Academy’s year-long residency at Metrograph continues in November with a night of experimental animation shorts from the ‘60s to the ‘80s, in 16mm, 35mm, and newly restored DCP. Filmmakers Frank Mouris and Nick Doob will be in person. The screening will be hosted by Brian Meacham of the Yale Film Study Center.
