Buck Crafts a Vibrant History of Hooking Up for Tinder Spot

The epic, ages-old struggle of Homo sapiens to meet their perfect match (or at least, perfect for the moment) gets a colorful, richly detailed animated retelling in “Invention of Together” from creative studio Buck (buck.tv) for dating app Tinder. Overseen by executive creative director Ryan Honey, the spot features touchably textured CG characters (with some poppin’ fresh buns) and vibrant, handmade environments as viewers travel through the history of courtship.

The short debuted in South Korea last month and is now available to watch online (scroll down to check it out).

In 75 seconds, we see the simple beginnings of coupling in prehistory, before human “civilization” made things all complicated with strict rules, arranged marriage, religious objections and societal divides. The point it makes in Tinder’s favor is that today, users can swipe right on whomever they choose, and closes with shots of diverse pairs (including interracial and LGBTQ couples) having a well-deserved grand time.
