‘Coconut The Little Dragon’ Ignites Rai Yoyo

Young viewers in Italy are getting to know that “true friendship is fireproof” thanks to the arrival of season 1 of Coconut the Little Dragon. The charming CG series from Caligari Films (Germany) is airing every day on Rai Yoyo at 3:15 p.m. with back-to-back episodes.

Based on Caligari’s successful family film, the show is set on Dragon Island — a unique world that is home to Fire Dragons, Sea Dragons, Cave Dragons, Grass Dragons, and many other types of dragons from the very biggest to the very bittiest. Coconut, a young dragon who has problems with flying, lives here with his friends Oscar, a vegetarian dragon, and Matilda, a porcupine. Together they are always on the hunt for fun, even if the grown-ups don’t understand their friendship.

“After having sold the TV series to Rai Ragazzi and done the dubbing, we are delighted of its airing on Rai Yoyo,” said Maria Romanelli, CEO of distribution/marketing partner Team Entertainment. “We will start developing the licensing activities in the various product categories, building on the great success of the original book series of Ingo Siegner, published by Edizioni EL of Gruppo Einaudi with more than 300.000 copies sold, to date. The books are a best seller and this is the greatest fan-base upon which build a medium long term franchise”

Gabriele M. Walther, CEO of Caligari Film and Executive Producer, commented: “Team Entertainment is the ideal partner for the Italian market as of their incredible expertise in brand management. I absolutely love the Italian opening song — it’s my summer hit!”
