CN Makes a Splash for Bullying Prevention Month with ‘Craig of the Creek’ PSA

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and Cartoon Network has released a new PSA for its award-winning, pro-social campaign, Stop Bullying: Speak Up, featuring the hit Emmy-, GLAAD- and NAACP Image Award-nominated series, Craig of the Creek.

Launched in 2010, Stop Bullying: Speak Up empowers kids to speak up safely and effectively in the face of bullying, while helping them develop greater kindness, caring and empathy that stops bullying before it starts. Recent partners include: Raising Good Gamers and The Cyberbullying Research Center, as well as PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.

Additionally, Cartoon Network and PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center have partnered to engage and empower kids to take on bullying whenever it happens – at school, online or in their communities – with the “Kids Take On Bullying Challenge,” which kicked off Oct. 1. Cartoon Network is reaching millions of kids with new Stop Bullying: Speak Up content encouraging kids to take on bullying and be part of the solution, and by partnering on the “Kids Take On Bullying Challenge.”

PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center has created resources and materials for educators and parents to help kids explore the issue of bullying and ways they can take action, all hosted on a custom microsite: www.kidstakeonbullying.com.

For the challenge, educators and parents are encouraged to work with their kids to develop a bullying idea they want to take on in their community. Two schools/groups will be selected and get $500 to put towards their amazing idea and get six hours of 1:1 coaching and working sessions with PACER to help make their ideas come to life.

For challenge rules, entry and to learn more, visit the “Kids Take On Bullying” site.
