Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) has appointed five new licensing partners in the soft lines categories for the hit anime series Bakugan. Announced today at the MAGIC Marketplace, the new deals will see apparel, sleepwear, swimwear and accessories rolling out at retail this fall. The partnerships mark the first round of deals inked by CNE since being named the exclusive U.S. licensing agent for Bakugan.
Beginning this fall, Hybrid Tees will debut a line of long- and short-sleeved t-shirts and sweatshirts that will feature images of characters from the series. Also available at retail in time for the holiday shopping season will be a range of backpacks, lunch bags, messenger bags and more from Accessory Innovations, as well as novelty stationery from Jazwares. In the spring of 2009, C-Life will introduce Bakugan swimwear, including board shorts and rash guards, and SGI Apparel will debut a variety of sleepwear options for young fans of the boys’ action show.
Bakugan is a co-production of Sega Toys Ltd., Spin Master Ltd., Nelvana Enterprises Inc., TMS Entertainment Ltd., Japan Vistec Inc. and Sega Corp., with animation by Japan Vistec Inc. and TMS Entertainment Ltd. The series can be seen Monday through Friday on Cartoon Network at 8 a.m. (ET/PT). A full Bakugan toy line from Spin Master Ltd. is currently available at retailers nationwide.
