Live-Action ‘One Piece’ Netflix Series Sets Sail in 2023

Netflix today unveiled a teaser poster for its upcoming One Piece series, offering a sneak peak at Iñaki Godoy (The Imperfects) as Monkey D. Luffy in the live-action adaptation. The artwork promises that fans will set sail with the beloved pirate crew sometime in 2023.

The series also stars Mackenyu (Rurouni Kenshin: The Final) as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd (Fear Street) as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson (Greenleaf) as Usopp and Taz Skylar (Multi-Facial) as Sanji,

One Piece

The new One Piece series is based on the staggeringly popular manga series created by Eiichiro Oda (who also serves as executive producer on the show). First published in 1997 and exceeding 100 volumes, the story follows incredibly stretchy and unstoppably headstrong captain Luffy on his quest to discover the legendary treasure One Piece, navigating a fantasy world populated by pirates. One Piece holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s best-selling single-author comic book series.

In partnership with Shueisha, One Piece is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Matt Owens and Steve Maeda are writers, executive producers and showrunners. Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also executive produce.

Previously announced cast includes McKinley Belcher III, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan, Jeff Ward, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Chioma Umeala and Steven Ward. Additional cast to be announced.
