‘LK School Daze’ Makes YouTube Premiere Friday

A new series of two-minute animated LK School Daze shorts will debut worldwide this week, with the first webisode dropping Friday on YouTube. The first batch will run to 52 YT-exclusive webisodes.

In tandem with the release date announcement, a first look at the series was launched across LK School Daze platforms. The teaser sees the students Vanness, Aditas, Froggy, Zero, Anthony, Bepop, Xena, Sharkhead and Mickey looking horrified as Yumi and Ami tell a scary tale about puberty.

LK School Daze is based on Kadokawa Gempak Starz’s comic series Lawak Kampus, created by Keith Chong, which became a major hit in Asia when it debuted back in 2003 and sold over 7.7 million copies in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and China. The series follows three socially dysfunctional best friends — Vanness, Aditas, Froggy — and their schoolmates as they do their worst to learn the essential life skills they need in and around school.

Building on its popularity, LK School Daze shorts debuted on TikTok in May 2023, garnering more than 37.67 million video views, 1.69 million likes and 124,000 followers.

To celebrate the series’ YouTube debut, it will be hosting a virtual watch party for its first webisode, titled “Growing Pains,” which will be live on LK School Daze Official YouTube Channel on Friday, September 1 at 11 a.m. (GMT) / 7 p.m. (MYT).

LK School Daze is produced by Lil Critter Workshop, an animation production house with studios in Malaysia and the U.K. (lilcritterworkshop.tv)
