‘Guilty Gear’ Games Get Anime Series from ‘Sakura Wars’ Studio

Arc System Works America, Inc., in partnership with Sanzigen Studios in Japan (Sakura Wars the Animation, BanG Dream! franchise, Initial D Legend films), announced today Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers, an anime adaptation of the long-running Guilty Gear fighting video game series. The companies unveiled teaser art for the project, which will debut to fans at Anime Expo 2024.

Sanzigen, which produced game protagonist Sol Badguy’s “Find Your One Way” music video for Guilty Gear’s latest video game entry, Guilty Gear -Strive-, is producing the anime. Shigeru Morikawa (Argonavis the Movie: Axia) will direct, with Guilty Gear writer Norimitsu Kaihō handling series composition and Seiji Mizushima (Mobile Suit Gundam 00Fullmetal Alchemist) as associate producer.

At Anime Expo in Los Angeles (July 4-7), fans will be the first to see the series trailer, along with learning behind-the-scenes info during Arc System Works’ “Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers – Special Eventpanel taking place on July 4 in the Main Events Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Additionally, all panel attendees will receive a Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers poster while supplies last. Panelists will include Norimitsu Kaiho, Seiji Mizushima as well as Ken Miyauchi (Guitly Gear -Strive- producer).

Since its debut in 1998, the Guilty Gear video game series has become a staple in its genre, with Guilty Gear -Strive- surpassing 2.5 million users worldwide. The critically acclaimed title most recently launched the new playable character Slayer.
