‘God’s Gang’ Drops Season Finale & Celebrates World Autism Month

God’s Gang, the spiritually-themed animated YouTube series with 1.65 million subscribers, recently powered through two back-to-back events, with World Autism Month as a uniting backdrop. An exclusive virtual entertainment-media-only preview party was held Tuesday, April 8. Then on April 9, a new seven-minute installment launched worldwide.

For both activations, the featured content was Episode 6: Epic Showdown of Light and Darkness, a season finale featuring the voice talents of neurodivergent stage and screen actor Atticus Baldwin, his longtime vocal coach and mentor Cathy McAuley (also head of Spectrum Laboratory voiceover training department), and a roster of talented regulars and guest performers.

The April 8 invite-only press event included a live-streamed, post-show Q&A with God’s Gang‘s Emmy-, Grammy- and Peabody Award-winning head writer Rob Kutner (Conan, The Daily Show, Angry Birds, Ben 10); director Ehud Landsberg (Transformers: Cyberverse, Vampirina), and creator and Disney Channel alum Nimrod Avraham May. Notably, autistic journalist Laura Amy Williams was a standout in the conversation, expressing her enthusiastic appreciation in line with her extensive April 5 blog post and interview with May — both shared their excitement about the show’s behind-the-scenes autistic representation .

During last year’s Autism Acceptance Month (April 2024), God’s Gang initiated a partnership with non- profit Autism in Entertainment (and its parent organization Orange County Asperger’s Support Group). The collab officially started on the vendor exhibit floor of the inaugural Autism in Entertainment Conference in Los Angeles at Skirball Cultural Center. This joint venture has created ongoing employment opportunities for autistic talent; God’s Gang promo announcer Tyler Berman was part of the same effort that welcomed Atticus Baldwin, Cathy McAuley and Spectrum Laboratory’s sound engineering division to the unconventional animation project.

Baldwin recently performed onstage live in Hollywood, California on Sunday, April 13 in Spectrum Laboratory’s Battle of the Bands at The Goldfish. His next appearance is with Spectrum Laboratory’s Spec-Ond City Players in Neurodiversity Night of Laughs at the flagship Laugh Factory comedy club on April 28.

With over 2 million subscribers across social platforms, God’s Gang and its most recent story arc sees the core team — NinJew, TaeKwanHindu, ChrisCross and SuMuslim, plus a fierce new female ally named KungFuDa — protect nature from a massive forest fire and rehabilitate super-sized white collar criminals, all while promoting the values of inclusivity, mindfulness, and spirituality. The non-traditional superheroes acknowledge their differences in religious beliefs and customs, but do not hesitate to join forces when the going gets tough.

In Episode 6, the combined strength of varying prayer styles proves overwhelming to the Corpo Creeps: baddies who symbolize human frailty in the face of fear.
